Senior Tax Accountant
Position Summary
Initially the candidate will provide accounting/tax preparation and planning services to the existing clientele. However, as the candidate gets comfortable into their role, they will be positioned to manage a handful of client relationships and supervise the preparation of files.
Key Accountabilities

Meetings and discussions with clients / handling emails

Engaging in tax planning and discussions

Full cycle accounting

Filing of various corporate / trust / partnership tax returns

Submission of GST and Payroll reports

Preparation and remission of various accounting reports for financial institutions

Preparation and issuance of T-slips to owners and investors

Preparing and/or reviewing general ledgers and bookkeeping materials
Skills and Qualifications

Possess a solid understanding of accounting and taxation concepts

Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written

Possess working knowledge of accounting software, such as Profile, Sage 50, CaseWare, and Quickbooks

Ability to function efficiently under pressure to meet tight deadlines

Ability to think creatively and strategically

Strong work ethic and willingness to learn

Minimum 2 years applicable experience

Undergraduate degree in a relevant field and courses specifically related to taxation
Training and Support will be provided to get the successful candidate caught up on the different tax strategies most recommended by the firm as well as to get them oriented with internal processes.
